According to the Natural Standard (a group of scientists that reviews findings in alternative medicine), there is no clear evidence that vitamin C prevents or cures cancer, cataracts, or heart disease. By bypassing regulatory systems that control internal vitamin C levels scientists were able boost vitamin C concentrations so high that it killed cancer cells. Accordingly, the use of vitamin K3 (VK3, also known as menadione [3]) and vitamin C (VC, also known as sodium ascorbate [4]) alone or in combination (VK3: VC [5]) is highly promising in cancer treatment. In accordance with other scientific reports and our present data suggest that activation of NF-κB is linked to cell death signaling in Jurkat and K562 cells [16]. Yet, the precise pathway(s) by which VK3 and/or VC induce .. If you read the book “Ascorbate, the science of vitamin C” it goes into great length to explain how misunderstood this vitamin is, and how we really do probably need much higher doses than we currently recommend to people. An analysis of It combines calcium ascorbate, magnesium ascorbate, and potassium ascorbate to create a neutral pH vitamin C. Indeed, NF-κB transcribes pro-apoptotic genes such as p53. Small amounts of the vitamin C seem to work as well as larger amounts, and no one has shown that supplemental Vitamin C is beneficial. Pauling was then able to successfully apply "mega-ascorbate therapy" to a variety of ailments-including cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
